You can begin your search on the Thompson Creek Trail that can be accessed
from Indian Hills Blvd. There is a parking lot there. From the parking lot
take the trail to the left, which would be down stream. Be to look back and
enjoy the view of Mt. Baldy, it is especially beautiful in the winter with
lots of snow on in. Just before you reach Higginbotham Park you will see the
sign to Sycamore Canyon Natural Area. Follow the trail upon hill. Becareful
of snakes and Poison Oak. Pass a mound of cactus. Cross the wood bridge and
continue uphill. Follow the stairs up to the old house. Facing the chimney
look in the back left corner of the chimney under lots of rocks. There you
will find your treasure. Be sure to secure the box like you found it so it
will not be carried away by flash floods.
